With everything that is happening around, there are so many emotions that are clamouring to be heard. So much that we want to express, but don’t know how. A lot of the time we don’t know whom to talk to, because everyone around us is going through the same situation.

Many of us turned to creative pursuits to heal ourselves. I myself wrote a lot of poems during this time and even published my book, “A Mother’s Heart” which is a compilation of poems and essays on my journey as a mother over thirty-two years.

While I regularly conduct creative writing classes for kids and young adults, a lot of my friends asked me if I could teach them to write poems. Actually what they said was, “ I wish I could write like you. You are able to put your emotions into words so beautifully.”

And I had to tell them that they could do that too. And so can you. I believe there is a poet in everyone of us, we just have to free ourselves to experience the magic of poetry.

So if you would like to explore the poet in you, in a space that is safe, do join me in my course, Let’s Write Poems which is starting soon.

I will be covering the following topics:

• Experience the magic of poetry
• Learn about the different kinds of poems you can write
• Read poems of master poets
• Learn to use figures of speech
• Find your own voice
• Lots of actual writing
• Feedback on your writing

I believed that Poetry is all about expressions only. However I attended this workshop moreover to spend time with my fellow poets . As the workshop progressed, I realised how naive I was. There is more to Poetry than mere expressions. Different kinds of Poetry, the usage of correct grammar, editing, so many aspects I had been overlooking that hampered the flow and essence of my writings.
If you wish to grow as a Poet in the right direction I strongly recommend Sunita’s Poetry workshops. Trust me, the finesse with which I aim to write is all thanks to Sunita. Always ready to help you and always approachable even after the sessions are done and the workshop completed. This trait of hers has helped me and many in the long run. ” Kameshwari Kulkarni

Poetry is powerful words in motion” but sometimes it takes a mentor to help us to put these words in correct order and give it a feel of poem. We need someone to unclutter the senses because it is said “Poetry is clear expression of mixed feelings”. And for me to make my emotions find my thoughts and for my thoughts to find words I got a wonderful mentor in Sunita Rodrigues Saldhana. Her teaching techniques, her demeanor and style made me restart and put the ink to paper and write good poems which atleast made me express my emotions and thoughts. So if you plan to take learning how to echo and paint your words on the paper I would highly recommend her as a “Super Mentor and Guide” Madhavi Kharote
