Finally! My book “Muffin And Mamma” is ready for release!
Every time I publish a book, I get a rush of joy and exhilaration, but this particular book, is special. This is the book I have poured the most love into.
Muffin And Mamma is about a naughty, lovable little puppy who shares a special bond with her hooman. You can read all about Muffin’s adventures; how she is always getting into trouble and making Mamma alternately laugh and pull her hair in despair.
I got Muffin in 2014, when she was just a pup of 21 days. She had been found crying in a gutter and someone had put up an adoption post about her on Facebook. I replied and the next day she came home.
It was the first time in my life that I had ever fallen in love at first sight! I had not fallen in love with my husband at first sight. Not even with my daughters. I was too exhausted after they were born to fall in love with anyone. But I took one look at Muffin and my heart tumbled immediately!
Muffin never left my side; she followed me all around the house. If I sat at my desk to write, she would lie under it. If I sat on the bed or window seat, she was content to become my writing desk.
I lost her in April 2022. And with her I lost my will to write. Sitting at my desk or window seat, was just not the same without her.
But finally it was she who returned as a muse to help me write Muffin and Mamma. Some of the stories are based on things that actually happened and some are fictitious. But in every story, there is an abundance of love.
As one of my beta readers said, “What struck me was the fantastic relationship between a human being and a little doggie who was never treated as an animal, but just as another being! The one constant thread that runs through this relationship is one of selfless and uninhibited affection, love, and trust.”

Dogs are special, and so are their stories. And, I agree. We almost always fall in love with our pups at first sight, more than we do with the “people” in our life! These four-legged angels are so full of love that we can’t help but fall head over heels in love with them the moment we lay eyes on them! 🙂
Absolutely. Through the book I also hope to encourage more people to adopt rather than buy animals.
