Different

Shreya ran down the road, angrily, dashing away the tears that distorted her vision. “How dare they?” she thought, “How dare they make fun of me like that. Just because I am not like them? I may be different, but I am still a wonderful person!”

Then she sighed because she knew it didn’t matter how wonderful she was. They would never accept her. She would never have real friends. She would always be lonely.

Suddenly she noticed that the road had changed. There were no longer houses on either side, but tall trees and swirling clouds. She hesitated for a second, but something compelled her to walk on. Without warning, the trees opened to a clearing, bright and happy, filled with people smiling at her.

They were all different and they were all accepting of each other. Shreya knew she had finally found her place.

  1. That’s wonderful that Shreya found her tribe who accepted her as she is. It makes a world of difference in one’s life to be among the people who accept them as they are, doesn’t it?
Thank you for sharing this beautiful and positive story for #fictionMonday, Sunita. Looking forward to read your craft for this week’s prompt. 🙂
